Kitendo cha kukumbatiana sio tu kinaleta upendo na kuileta jamii pamoja bali kina faida kubwa za kiafya na kwa mujibu wa tafiti mbalimbali zilizofanywa, watu hushauriwa kukumbatiana angalau mara 8 kwa siku.

Nimekusogezea hapa faida 10 za kukumbatiana.

1- Husaidia kupumzisha ubongo.

Kumkumbatia mtu unayemjali au kumpenda kunasaidia ubongo kuzalisha homoni inayojulikana kama OXYTOCIN ambayo huusaidia ubongo kufikia kiwango kikubwa cha kupumzika, pia homoni ya OXYTOCIN humsaidia mwanamke mwenye ujauzito kujifungua kwa usalama zaidi kwani hufanya mfumo wa uzazi kupanuka.

2 – Husaidia mwili kupambana na magonjwa

Kwa mujibu wa tafiti mbalimbali watu wengi hasa wazee wanaokumbatiwa mara nyingi huwa na asilimia chache za kukumbwa na magonjwa kuliko wale ambao hawakumbatiwi, hivyo watu hushauriwa kukumbatia wazazi wao kwani hii itawasaidia miili yao kuzalisha kinga ya kupambana na magonjwa.

3 – Kukumbatiana husaidia kupunguza maumivu

Madaktari hushauri kuwakumbatia wagonjwa wetu kwani kitendo hicho kidogo kinasaidia ubongo kuachia homoni  inayojulikana kama endorphins ambayo husaidia kufunga njia zote katika ubongo ambazo hutuma taarifa ya kuwepo kwa maumivu kwenye mwili.

4 – Husaidia watu kuwa na mood nzuri

Kwa mujibu wa tafiti mbalimbali watu wenye hasira au mood mbaya kila siku huzalisha homoni chache sana za Dopamine na Serotonin ambazo zinasaidia kufanya ubongo kuwa na uchovu na kukosa furaha hivyo kumkumbatia mtu unayempenda inasaidia kuzalisha homoni hizi kwa wingi.

5 – Kukumbatiana huongeza ufahamu kwenye ubongo

Watu wanashauriwa kuwakumbatia watu wenye uzito wa kuelewa mambo kwa haraka hasa wagonjwa wanaosumbuliwa na magonjwa kama  Autism na Dementia kwani kitendo hiki husaidia ubongo kuzalisha homoni ya oxytin inayosaidia ubongo kuelewa jambo kwa haraka na kutatua maswali magumu.

6 – Hupunguza msongo wa mawazo

Kukumbatiana kunasaidia kupunguza uzalishaji wa homoni inayoitwa Cortiso ambayo husaidia ubongo ku-relax. Homoni hii ikizalishwa kwa wingi kwenye ubongo wa binadamu husababisha hutawaliwa na mawazo hasi yanayopelekea msongo wa mawazo.

7 – Humsaidia mtu kupunguza hofu

Tafiti iliyofanywa na Psychological Science Journal imeeleza umuhimu wa kumkumbatia mtu mwenye hofu kwani inasaidia ubongo kupuuza taarifa hasi zinazotumwa kwenye ubongo pia husaidia mtu kuzalisha homoni zitakazomfanya ajiamini.

8 – Huepusha mtu kupata magonjwa ya akili

Kukumbatiana kunasaidia kuzalisha kwa wingi homoni ya Dopamine ambapo uzalishwaji wa homoni hii husaidia ubongo kupambana na magonjwa ya akili kama Depression, Bipolar pamoja na Dementia pia homoni hii inasaidia mtu kujiamini na kuwa mkweli.

9 – Husaidia kuepusha magonjwa ya moyo

Utafiti uliofanywa North Carolina umesema kuwa watu ambao hawajaonana na wapenzi wao kwa muda mrefu mapigo ya moyo huongezeka kwa mapigo 90 kwa dakika ambapo hali hii sio nzuri kwani binadamu mwenye afya imara hupata mapigo 40 kwa dakika moja.

10 – Husaidia kupumzisha misuli ya mwili

Kukumbatiana kunasaidia kupumzisha misuli ya mwili ambapo watu wengi wanapokumbatiana hulegeza misuli yote iliyokaza na kusaidia mwili kupumzika. Hii ndiyo maana wazazi wengi hushauriwa kuwakumbatia watoto wao wanapoamka asubuhi na kabla hawajalala.
