Entertainment fans are quickly appreciating the recently launched second edition of Heineken foosball tournament being held in various night spots in Dar es Salaam.
Speaking to this newspaper over the weekend winning players who participated in the competition whose main aim is to engage consumers to experience foosball and the UEFA champions’ league, they said that they are very happy with winning a chance to land the grand prize which is a trip to Ibiza, Spain.
“This is the first time I have ever played such a game, at first I feared we’ll be knocked of the competition but pressed on, and now I have chance for the finals, this is very important for us, said Mr. Geoffrey Dominic who together with his partner Augustine emerged winners at Kisuma, Temeke.
I am very glad that we proved and showed the other teams our scoring skills. We were confident of winning, played our best and emerged winners,” said Mr. Jack Rota who is captian of team Mancity which won at Maisha club. All the winning teams gotten so far will proceed to the quarter finals to be played later this month.
Heineken on their part said that the 16 final teams will get a chance to battle it out for the grand prize at Club 777 in Mikocheni Dar es salaam. They also added that in addition to winners being flown to Ibiza, Spain, the owner of the Winners’ outlet will receive a whopping $10,000 worth of investment from Heineken.
The owner of the outlet from which the winning foosball team emerges will accompany his two customers to the ultimate Heineken® live screening of the UEFA Champions League finals on Ibiza.
The semi-finals and finals will be staged at Club 777 where 16 teams will represent ‘their’ bar. The winners of this stage will go on to compete at the Heineken® Foosball Tournament finals which will be held on 26th of April.
Heineken® will fly the ultimate foosball champions to the legendary island of Ibiza. This is where they will experience the ultimate Heineken® live screening of the UEFA Champions League finals. Prize winners and VIPs from across the world will join together to celebrate a night of legendary football at this world-class Heineken® experience.
